We are working to keep the academy as safe as possible. You may have heard that testing for those without coronavirus symptoms is beginning across the country using new, quicker COVID-19 tests known as ‘lateral flow tests’.

Along with the other protective measures we are taking, these tests will help staff and students to remain in the academy. Up to one third of people who have coronavirus experience no symptoms. By testing we will help to stop the virus spread and help to keep our academy open as safely as possible.

We will be testing all staff and secondary school age students who want to participate from week commencing 4 January 2021 (or as soon as possible).

Due to changes to the plan for all students to return to school in January, we have temporarily suspended the collection of consent from parents for mass asymptomatic testing.

We have put in place separate arrangements for those who are currently attending our academy, ie staff, vulnerable students and children of critical workers. We will contact all parents with further information once we know when all other students will return to school.
